I used a root method for my G2 (D800) that rooted the phone without the need for unlocking the bootloader.

My phone is currently rooted, locked and has the stock recovery and stock ROM. The only tweaks have been made using the Xposed G2 module.

It is the AT&T version but has been sim unlocked and is currently on T-Mobile's network.

All that said, where do I get my OTAs from ? (KK is supposedly around the corner)

Will I get it from T-Mobile? From LG?... from AT&T??

Will I even be able to receive the KK OTA at all?

All feedback is appreciated !

Okay, so, I do not use XPosed and have no experience with it so keep that in mind.

From my research, as long as you have a stock recovery, you need to disable XPosed, apply the update as well as doing whatever is necessary to keep your root, and once the update is finished installing just re-enable XPosed and you should be good to go.

As far as keeping root throughout the OTA, I believe Superuser has a "survive OTA" option in the app, and there is also Voodoo root OTA helper that is created to help a user retain root through an update. I don't have experience with that process though so maybe someone else who roots and has a phone that actually gets OTA updates can chime in.

I just use TWRP's option to root.  Flash stock recovery, take OTA, unroot, go to fastboot, flash TWRP, root it via recovery, boom.  That usually works (and did during the last N5 OTA).

Your updates will still come from AT&T. The OTA will push to your phone when ready. From what I can tell there is only two version of the ATT LG G2 that you can root and that's the stock ROM (D80010d) and the ota (D80010o). You will probably lose root with the next ota and have to wait for a new root. As long as you haven't deleted or altered any stock files the ota should remove root and Xposed.

Thanks for the feedback! So, what you're saying is that even though I'm rooted and on T-Mobile I should still get an OTA from AT&T? ... I just checked my software version and it's the stock one (D80010d) ... Shouldn't I have received D80010o by now?  ... or do I need to turn Xposed off first and check for an update? ... right now, when i check for a software update it says that I'm up to date and to check back in 24 hours, however, when I checked 2 minutes ago it said I was not registered yet...

Do you know what this is all about by chance? Thanks again ;)

Have you tried using LG's software update tool on your PC?

LG only has the update for the D801, I've got the D800 (AT&T version)...
