ASUS continues their line of tablet and phone hybrids

In addition to the Transformer Book Duet and the new Zenfone lineup, ASUS also used their stage time today to show off two new entries to their Padfone linup, the Padfone X and the Padfone Mini. Both of these devices feature what makes this specific brand unique: a tablet dock that the phone slides straight into, allowing you the ease of not having to manage files and accounts between two devices.

The Padfone Mini offers users a 4" handset and a 7" tablet counterpart powered by an Intel Atom Z2560 clocked at 1.6ghz, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage with a microSD slot for expansion. The handset's 4" IPS display is running at a measly 800 x 480, while the 7" tablet screen is at a slightly less unimpressive 1280 x 800. We're looking standard 8MP rear and 2MP front cameras and your choice of 5 different color options.

AT&T and ASUS joined together to announce the Padfone X, which has a US release planned which is exclusive to AT&T. This one packs a 5" 1080p display into the handset at a 9" tablet display counterpart with the same resolution in tow. Unfortunatly, we don't know much more than that right now.

I've always found these hybrid devices to be interesting.  Too bad that it's an AT&T exclusive.

I choose Android...it's only logical.  VulcanSalute_zps9ab5f775.gif
