HTC isn't going to show you their new One until March 25th, but we have two new mid-range devices to hold us over until then. It certainly looks like HTC is taking the budget / mid-range sector seriously in terms of continuing their popular design language and employing a premium feel, which I personally appreciate a great deal being one of the few that doesn't simply look at flagships when shopping for a new device. Let us know what you think about them below!
The HTC Desire 816
Right off the bat, we can see that the 816 is influenced by HTC's success in the design of its One lineup. The Desire 816 aims to bring a premium experience to mid-range handsets. BoomSound and BlinkFeed are both on board, of course. A quad-core 1.6ghz CPU, LTE-capable radios and a 13MP camera are all housed in the device which will be available in multiple color options as seen above. The device will pack a 5.5" display. Global availability starts this April.
The HTC Desire 610
The Desire 610 is the second device introduced by HTC at Mobile World Congress 2014. The device is packing a 4.7" display with, again, BlinkFeed and BoomSound on board. It's nice that HTC still includes these flagship-defining features on their mid-range handsets. The 610, like the 816 is still packing a quad-core CPU, LTE connectivity, and will be available in multiple colors. The phone is set for a May release in Europe, and availability beyond that is as of yet unclear. We'll keep you posted.
