Google announced today via the Google Drive G+ account that QuickOffice, an app that can be used to edit Microsoft Office documents for Android and iOS, will now be free to anyone with a Google Account. If you sign into the app with your Google Account by September 29th, you'll also get an extra 10GB of Google Drive space for free for two years. Google says that users should expect to see the increase within a few weeks.
QuickOffice offers you the ability to not ever make compromises in terms of the hardware you choose because everyone else around you is stuck on Windows. With the software, you can create and edit Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents, view PDFs and send e-mail attachments easily through the app. It is also integrated with Google Drive, providing easy sharing and access through Google's cloud storage service.
The prospect of this quality software and the extra space is definitely a welcome gesture from Google, and I will definitely be taking advantage. What about you?
