I find the back of the Nexus 7 to be a little blah and boring so I decided to kick things up a notch with a skin. I kind of liked the look of the 2012 model better.

Here's my white carbon dbrand vinyl skin. It was very easy to apply and gives a nice texture while holding the device.

Does it come up at all? Around the edges?

So far no.. but I'm also very careful with it.. not like a phone where I'm taking it in and out of my pants. Its pretty sticky but also removable so I'm assuming it could peel if not handled correctly. I think it was $10-13 so worth the investment. I'd be a little leery of putting it on my phone.. maybe with a bumper case to protect the edges. They became pretty popular on the Nexus 4 so you might want to see if there are any complaints from Nexus 4 owners.

The one I had started peeling within 2 months; once dirt gets under an edge, game over.

I'll look into it though, I've always loved the concept.

I'd most definitely use a bumper case with it.. I think it would be a good look and also protect the edges from lifting. Now that I think about it.. the Nexus 4 had a flat back and the skin laid in nicely.. no wrapping around the edges so that probably helped big time.

The ringke I bought has a clear back with what is effectively a black (matte) bumper around it.
