The Google Chrome blog is home this morning to the most exciting tech-related news I think I've heard all week (so far, anyway.) Ten new apps in the Play store have added support for Google's Chromecast "beginning today."

We are gaining 7 new apps to stream online content, and 3 that also support streaming media locally from your phone or tablet. I can't help but wonder why PocketCasts isn't on this list yet, however.

Hmm.. Looks like you need a Plex Pass subscription at the moment.. $4 a month, $30 a year or $75 lifetime... Not so bad I guess for a lifetime subscription. I never tried Plex yet so I'll have to decide after I set things up. Just got my Roku in the mail last night (unfortunately I bought the version without a USB port so I cannot connect an external drive.. will have to stream using an app like plex) and received my Chromecast today.

FYI for Plex Users.... The Chromecast feature is only available with a PlexPass while it's in preview. Then it will be available for everyone for free - Plex Support

So hang tight before purchasing a subscription.. unless you truly want/need the extra features of PlexPass. Just finished setting up Plex btw.. awesome :) cant believe I waited this long to try it out.
